Dear all
See the messages from Alison and Steven below.
Steven says:
Thank you very much for your excellent performance of Weihnachts-Oratorium last night! You have put in a great deal of hard work over the whole term, and it clearly paid off. I was so pleased and satisfied with your accurate, energetic and expressive singing, as well as your concentration and discipline throughout the concert.
Soloists and orchestral players also commented on how well you sang. Together we made a memorable evening for ourselves and our audience.
With best wishes for Christmas and the New Year, and looking forward to more music-making in January,
Steven
Alison says:
A) Thanks to everyone for a lovely
concert last night. Very well attended and appreciated by our good audience.
My thanks especially to Peter for building our new rostrum and to all who helped set up and put away everything including the partners who also helped.
Well done for all your hard work. Now we can look forward to some Christmas music and our Social evening tomorrow.
B) If you are coming to the
Social tomorrow night, please bring your green carol books if you have one, along with the food you signed up for. It is at the URC from 8-9.30pm as usual. If you have not handed in your Bach scores, please bring them as well or contact Lyn Summers on
01179 799494 or email
librarian@thornburychoralsociety.org.uk.
C) A group of
Finnish singers (7 females and 2 males) have asked to join our Workshop on March 1st 2025 and will be flying into Bristol on Wednesday 26th February and departing early on Sunday 2nd March. They will leave for overnight airport accommodation after our Workshop on the Saturday.
We wondered if anyone in the choir would like to host one or two visitors and/or join us for a meal at a local pub on one evening? We hope to enable them to see Gloucester or Bristol or Bath as well as joining us on the Saturday for the Workshop and observing St. Mary’s choir rehearsal on the Friday night, but this has yet to be confirmed.
If you are willing to host or would like to be involved in other ways such as willing to offer transport or join us on a visit, please let me know by Friday 6th December.
Thank you,
Alison
